It is called the mode door actuator. It controls air flow out the vents. Roy. 1. Remove the floor air outlet duct extension (1) from the floor duct (2). 2. Remove the center console. 3. Remove the screws from the center console duct.1. checked the fan fuses, both intact. 2. manually reached in (car off) and turned the fans to ensure they weren't bound up. 3. unplugged fan cords from FCM and plugged in wires (house hold 14ga solid copper wires) and linked to car battery. didn't spin either fan. confirmed multiple times the polarity was correct.Crank your car, turn on the ac, take both sides through a hot/cold test and see which side stays stuck at either hot or cold. That'll be your problem side. Cause I believe there's actually 5 actuators: Passenger temp. Driver Temp. Fresh/recirc. Defrost. Blend door. Most likely gonna be pass or driver temp.

1 post · Joined 2019. #1 · Oct 31, 2019. I have a 2014 Ford Escape SE 2WD and the heater doesn't work. To be more specific, air comes out at all 4 levels of the blower but only cold air comes out. I've made sure I took off the A/C button and flipped the knob back and forth and checked if it worked with certain vents but it all blows cold air.From the diagrams I'm looking at it appears that the blower motor resistor is not working and/or the climate control module has a short. I would recommend replacing the blower motor resistor first. And the climate control module second. When I pull up codes on the dash is it says 7T4T-010849CF.1. Top up the Coolant. 2. Check and Replace the Thermometer. 3. Check for Air Lock. 4. Check for Bad Coolant or Loose Clamps. 5. Check the Radiator. 6. Check the Radiator Cap. 7. Check the Water Pump. 8.
